Dr. Mogilner is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Director of Advocacy for the Department of Pediatrics at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. She directs the pediatric resident Advocacy and Community Pediatrics rotation. Dr. Mogilner is founder and director of Reach Out and Read (ROR) at Mount Sinai, an early childhood literacy program based in the pediatric outpatient department which distributes over 15,000 books per year to patients and teaches parents about the importance of early childhood literacy. Dr. Mogilner serves as Medical Director for Reach Out and Read of Greater New York, a coalition of over 200 ROR programs in the greater New York area. Dr. Mogilner also oversees programs in the practice designed to address childhood obesity and food insecurity. She is a principal investigator on the POWERfood study, a project designed to provide families struggling with obesity and food insecurity with vouchers for fresh fruits and vegetables. Dr. Mogilner is a member of the AAP Council on Early Childhood Early Literacy Subcommittee and is Co-chair of the Academic Pediatric Association Advocacy Special Interest Group.
