Child’s Play in Action: Story Clap

Today we’re playing Story Clap! This game works in a large group or even one-on-one. Jocelyn Greene (Executive Director, Child’s Play NY) explains the ways to build your own story. Use your favorite fairy tale, myth or fable as a jumping off point.  Designate a story conductor/clapper who can help the narrative sequencing along with words like, “Suddenly…”, “But then…”, “Finally…”. And limit the length of your story with a timer. Dr. Bronwyn Charlton (Seedlings Group) weighs in how this game boosts literacy and helps kids practice listening. Visit us here for more information!
